Product Description

The Akas INFU-5005 is an advanced volumetric and drop-counting infusion pump that combines high levels of safety, clinical precision, and user-friendly operation. It controls an electromechanical linear peristaltic pumping mechanism responsible for driving fluids, medications, nutrients, or blood from a container through flexible tubing into a patient's catheter. It is specifically engineered with several advanced micro-infusion features, making it highly reliable for general wards, critical care units (ICU), neonatal care (NICU), and oncology/cancer therapy infusions where precise accuracy is mandatory.

Key Features

  • Universal IV Set Compatibility: Programmable to work smoothly with any brand of standard macro or micro I.V. tubing. The system allows custom calibrations to match the specific drops/mL conversion factor (12 to 26 drops/mL) of your preferred local tubing brand.
  • Dual Parameter Modes: Features effortless, easy change-over toggling between Drop/min and mL/hr display modes depending on drug calculation protocols.
  • Auto-Calculation System: Automatically calculates target flow rates based on entered target volume and target delivery times.
  • Advanced Monitoring Interface: Built with an intuitive keypad accompanied by colored status LEDs, an interactive LCD for menu navigation, and an alphanumeric LED display easy to check from long distances in dark ICU environments.
  • Upgradable Connectivity: The hardware is structurally ready to support an upgraded wireless Wi-Fi module interface for integration into Hospital Information Systems (HIS).

Product Highlights

  • External Drop Sensor Accuracy: Employs a robust, external plug-in clip-on drop sensor that calculates exact volume-infused conversions directly from individual drops, minimizing mechanical discrepancies.
  • Anti-Air Embolism Protection: Built with highly sensitive internal "Air in Line" detectors that immediately halt fluid flow if a bubble passes, keeping the patient completely safe.
  • Free-Flow Protection: Protects against unmonitored gravity or accidental free-flow situations when the pump door is opened via an integrated occlusion/drip monitoring safety latch.
  • Smart Audio-Visual Alarm Matrix: Triggers immediate audio alarms and distinctive visual flashes for: Door Open, Excess Flow, Less Flow/Occlusion, Air-in-Line, and Low Battery.

Use Cases

  • Critical Care Units (ICU/CCU): For continuous, tightly-regulated administration of vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, or emergency cardiac drugs.
  • Neonatal & Pediatric Care (NICU): Utilizing Micro/Pedia modes for low-volume, low-dose micro-infusions (down to 0.1 mL/hr) where fluid overload is dangerous.
  • Oncology & Chemotherapy: Delivering highly volatile cytotoxic cancer therapies where precise multi-hour dosing schedules are paramount.
  • Operating Rooms & Emergency Moving: Providing safe anesthesia or blood volume expanders during surgical routines or emergency internal patient transfers via internal battery backup.
